National Take Down the Christmas Tree Day
National Weigh-In Day (Of course they would have this after the holidays!)
1536 - The first European school of higher learning in the Americas is founded in Mexico City.
1947 - Pan American Airlines becomes the first commercial airline to offer a round-the-world ticket.
1912 - Danny Thomas was born. He was an American actor, comedian, producer, humanitarian and founder of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He appeared on Make Room for Daddy (later known as the Danny Thomas Show) from 1953-1964. It became one of the most successful and long-running sitcoms in American television history. Thomas died in 1991.
1944 - Bonnie Franklin was born. She was an American actress and singer. She is known for her lead role in One Day at a Time (1975-1984). She died in 2013.
