It's 1985. Peggy Sue Bodell is getting ready to leave with her daughter, Beth, for her 25-year reunion in her original prom dress from 1960. Due to his infidelity, Peggy Sue has separated from her husband and high school sweetheart, Charlie. She's leery of going to the reunion because she doesn't want to answer a lot of questions about why Charlie isn't there. She and Charlie got married right out of high school because she was pregnant.
Peggy Sue arrives at the reunion and everyone is surprised to see her in her prom dress. She thought that everyone was going to wear period clothes. Regardless, she is happy to talk to her old best friends, Maddy and Carol. Unexpectedly Charlie arrives; and there is an awkward moment in which Peggy Sue ignores him.
The event MC is now going to announce the reunion king and queen. The king is Richard Norvik, now a billionaire inventor, but once the class geek. Peggy Sue is named queen and must be prodded up to the stage. They wheel out the reunion cake and she suddenly feels woozy and her vision becomes blurry...then she faints.
Peggy Sue wakes up and sees that she is in the gym where the reunion was held; but it's not 1985. She has passed out after donating blood; and her friends are concerned about her...her old teenage friends from the spring of 1960. She is still in shock and doesn't quite comprehend what is going on and lets herself be taken home.
How will it end? Well, I'm not going to tell you. It was a blast from the past to see life in the 60s and for Peggy Sue to do the things that I probably would do if given the opportunity to go back in time...for example, she constructs a pair of pantyhose before they were invented and marketed. I would have my thinking cap on to figure out what the next moneymaker would be!
Is it a good movie? Absolutely. Have I watched it more than once? Yes. Would I recommend it? Definitely.
This movie is rated PG-13.

It's a 1960; so I figured it was relevant.

I saw this movie in the cinema. It is a very light comedy and not for a blockbuster movie. But we loved it and we even watch the reruns on tv now.

I have seen it. Depressing to realize it's that old now. I can remember when it was a hot ticket.
