Happy Elvis day! If ol’ E.P. were alive he’d be 85 today. I should have an Elvis song to celebrate his birthday for today’s rock song that has “love” in the title, but I’m doing these alphabetically by artist; plus, the Elvis song is in the top ten. So there! You’ll have to settle for this Elvis instead. As I said, this was ONE HARD COUNTDOWN to do in terms of narrowing it down to 45 songs, then picking ten favorites out of those 45 favorites! I’ve seen this song performed by Mr. McManus, as well as by the name who wrote it (Nick Lowe). Everyone sings along. Casual music fans probably won’t know this one, but this Elvis was never for the casual music fan. Plus, we really need to hear this song in today’s troubled times.
