The Bizarre Thing About Hieroglyphs

I am very fascinated about hieroglyphs. In my opinion, we can learn a lot about human origins from hieroglyphs. I am just wondering ... how could ancient people create hieroglyphs long time ago? What tools did they use to form hieroglyphs? I think it is such an awful process to crave stones only by using hand tools. Last time, I tried to drill a screw into a hard metal. The screw could not go into the metal although I had put a lot of efforts into it, and I was using a small drill machine! So, I am very flabbergasted. How did those ancient people create small and neat hieroglyphs on stones? Another thing that I am so stunned is ... An Ancient Egypt hieroglyph also carved about a helicopter, a plane, a tank, a UFO's plane! Can you believe this? As you know, Ancient Egypt existed around 4000 years ago.
