More Than Just Neighbors...

I've lived in apartment complexes in a big city and you really don't have "personal" neighbors, you just meet the people who live in the same building as you do. When I remarried my ex, we lived in a trailer court. Now we had friends there as we weren't either living above some one or under them!! 
We've been in the village almost 7 years. The first couple of years were busy cleaning up the property, then we moved our trailer house that was attached to the mother-in-law's house, we've become good friends with our east neighbors. We share our hot peppers and tomatoes with them. They share peaches with us and we have just become good friends.
One day they came hauling this ac over to us. They knew we didn't have ac and some one had given this to them, but they have central ac. They knew how hard I worked in the garden and doing all the mowing, so they thought of us when they got it. It was brand new!! We wanted to pay them some thing for it and they said "NO!!!"
Do you have neighbors that are more than just neighbors?

The neighbor gals have been shovelling my walk whenever it snows and I shared my cucumbers with them this past summer.

Ever since I've moved to my apartment 5.5 years ago, my neighbor Annette (she lives on the 2nd floor) was my first one I became friends with. We chat from time to time. I saw her last month when I came back from doing groceries. I hope to see her more often this year. No other friends with my neighbors so far, since they're younger or older than me.
