Whitney Houston plays the led in "The Bodyguard" and was born on August 9, 1963. She was an American singer, actress, film producer, model and record producer. She sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Houston is the only artist to have 7 consecutive #1 singles on the U. S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. All of Houston's albums have been certified diamond, multi-platinum, platinum or gold. "The Bodyguard" was released in 1992 and was Houston's movie acting debut. "I Will Always Love You" received a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and became the best-selling single by a woman in music history. "The Bodyguard" received a Grammy Award for Album of the Year and is the best-selling soundtrack album in history. Houston died accidentally by drowning in the bathtub on February 11, 2012. I personally don't like how, after this version came out, it became Whitney's signature song. Whitney wasn't a songwriter. Her voice was beautiful and strong, but it wasn't her song. I can't even listen to her sing it anymore.

I had that CD when I was a teenager. I listened to it over and over and over...That wasn't even my favorite song on the track. I Have Nothing and I'm Every Woman were my faves. They played "I Will Always Love You" too much on the radio. I love Dolly Parton's original version of this song, although Whitney did an AMAZING cover! Her voice is so beautiful, but I could just feel how personal the song is to Dolly when she sings it. But yeah, that soundtrack is amazing!
