Day 164
Promise 215
Psalm 60:12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. (KJV)
Who or what are your enemies?
David had many enemies in those who came against him to try to triumph over him. Yet, God delivered him from all his enemies, those of the nations around him and those of his household.
Your enemy is anyone or anything that stands in your way to keep you from God.
As Christians, your number one enemy is Satan. He brings everything against you he can to keep you from God and looking to Him for your salvation, protection, and deliverance.
Satan uses time against you. Have you noticed how when everything is on track, things come up to delay you?
Satan uses people to come against you and try to make you believe God doesn’t care and you need to man up and take care of things yourself.
Satan uses objects. Everything seems to breakdown at once and to compound matters, the money isn’t in your wallet to fix anything.
David didn’t allow Satan to come against him. He kept his eyes on God.
David and his warriors returned to Ziklag to find their wives and children stolen and his warriors wanted to stone him.
1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Satan doesn’t want you to remember God’s promise to help you, to come to your defense, to provide for you, and to deliver you when Satan comes against you. He wants you to wallow in fear and remorse, seeking every way but God to solve the problem.
Don’t take your eyes off God or His Son, Jesus. He is your hope and your salvation. He will take care of you in every situation.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou know not.
What are you facing? Give it to God and watch Him fix the situation.
Let’s pray: Father, you know my situation. Help me to seek You first and not let any lie from Satan hinder me from the help You promised me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
