Any Thoughts About Venezuela?

If you've been following the news reports, then you know that it looks like Venezuela finally has a new president. I have to say it "looks like" because from my distance I still can't quite tell if that other guy Maduro is finally going to go home! Don't you just hate these leaders who don't know when it's for them to GO HOME!! Anyway! Got any thoughts about the current situation in Venezuela? I got one. That new president is a good looking guy! Hope he governs as good as he looks! Also, hope the citizens who left Venezuela and literally walked across the border into Columbia now have hope and feel like maybe in the immediate future ... they can come back home.

Dear friend, two months after that, and nothing has happened yet. We are helpless, these people will end up destroying the country.

Thank you for the update. We don't know anything that is happening in other countries unless it's the coronavirus. Fortunately we have not heard that Venezuela has been affected by that. As for 2 months? I know you people are anxious and want to see progress immediately. But recognize this. It took longer than 2 months for your country to get screwed up like that! If your new president is willing to fix things and rebuild, then give him all the support that you can. I've never been a political leader. But I know the job ain't easy! A leader may be trying their best to do the right thing. But they always have to watch their back because The Enemy is never far away. The more the leader tries to succeed, the more The Enemy tries to impede and slow down, if not stop progress. Always remember. Everybody in a country that's suffering is not suffering. Not everybody! There are always folks in the background and behind the scenes padding their wallets and living large. As long as the bad guy was in charge life was good. For them! Now somebody else has come along and taken the place of the one who was allowing them to live comfortably. They are not pleased. Trust me. It happens in every country where corruption becomes "business as usual". You're not helpless. You can help yourself and your country. But you need to believe that and see what it is that you can do. You're the ordinary citizen but you're just as important as government officials or the leaders. A country is not a country without citizens. OK friend?

@cmoneyspinner Thank you for your words my friend. You are very right in everything you say. In my case I am a retired educator, I am frustrated to see that the destruction is from the bowels of the country. Children and youth are being trained as miserable automata dependent on a government and not as citizens capable of making correct decisions, with the ability to make amends if they make mistakes. So far I have participated in marches, I have been shot, I have taken what I can, but I despair not seeing results. I am sure that it will end and there I will be willing to do my bit for the recovery of the country, which will take a long time, but it will be possible if everything works. Thanks again.

@cmoneyspinner Thank you my friend, I will not give up. I ask God every day to give me strength and allow me to see the light at the end of the tunnel, when this is over.
