"Sabrina" is a romantic comedy-drama that was released in 1995. It is a remake of the 1954 movie of the same name. The movie was directed by Sydney Pollack. The film received mostly positive reviews but was a disappointment at the box office with receipts of $87.1 million and a budget of $50 million. CAST Harrison Ford - Linus Larrabee Julia Ormond - Sabrina Fairchild Greg Kinnear - David Larrabee Angie Dickinson - Ingrid Tyson Richard Crenna - Patrick Tyson Nancy Marchand - Maude Larrabee Lauren Holly - Elizabeth Tyson John Wood - Thomas Fairchild Sabrina Fairchild lives on the Long Island Larrabee estate with her father Thomas, the chauffeur. Maude Larrabee inherited the business and son Linus, runs the business; and the other son David, is the playboy. Sabrina spends her days mooning over David. She has loved him all of her life. When the Larrabees have a party, she climbs a tree so that she can watch David from afar. Sabrina with her glasses, wild hair and loose-fitting clothes...David hardly notices that she exists. Sabrina has an opportunity to travel to Paris for a fashion internship with Vogue Magazine. The night before she leaves she goes to David's room to tell him how she feels. She can hear him in his closet; so she begins to spill her heart out...but it's Linus that comes out; and she's mortified. She grows up little by little when she's in Paris. She learns about fashion; and she dates a photographer who opens her eyes to wonders of photography. Each time she goes somewhere new she places a menu or some momento over a portion of David's picture that she keeps on the corkboard in her room. While she is gone, David falls in love with Elizabeth Tyson. Linus is quite pleased about this match because it could mean a billion dollar merger with the company that makes the almost indestructible flat panel screen. If you want to find out what happens next, you will need to watch the movie. The casting in this movie is good, the acting is good; and the directing is good. There is romance, comedy and drama...something for everyone. I have no hesitation in recommending this movie. This movie is rated PG. Photo Credit: Wikimedia Commons (Harrison Ford)

I liked the 1954 version better.

The one thing I didn't like about the 1954 version was that Bogart was much too old.

I only saw the original. No interest in the remake.

I have seen the old one with Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn twice or even trice. It was a great movie. I love it.
