“Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie” is a really get yourself happy song from days gone by. It was written by Harry Von Tilzer for his cousin Nellie and recorded by The Von Tilzer Brothers. This song has been recorded many times and became a pop standard. It was featured in the movie “Birth of the Blues” in 1941 starring Bing Crosby and Mary Martin. The song also became the stock exchange anthem dating back to 1934. The floor traders at the New York Stock Exchange would sing this song on the last trading day of every year and on Christmas Eve. I doubt if this continues to this day but it is interesting that is was once sung there. The song also became popular with barbershop quartets and wound up as country music hit then sung by The Golden Memory Boys in 1940. Another interesting thing is that Buddy Holly recorded “Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie” and some other songs that are now referred to as the “Apartment Tapes”. He made notes for himself on the songs in his home in New York City.
A very old song that Buddy recorded caus his mother loved the song. You rarely see this song on Buddy CDs.

Interesting info. I didn't know that the people in the stock exchange would sing that song.
