Day 169 Promise 220 Psalm 85:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.) LORD, thou hast been favorable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. 3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. When everything seems wrong, something goes right and you see the end of all your problems. God sent Israel and Judah into captivity to Babylon and Assyria. He promised His people they wouldn’t be there forever, but for a period of seventy years. Jeremiah 25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. Jeremiah 29:10 For thus says the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. Daniel 9:2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. (KJV) As Christians, you know God keeps His promises. When God told the people, they would go into captivity because of their wickedness against Him, He told them, He would bring them back to the land. The sons of Korah praised God for keeping His promise and bringing them back to their land. Are you in captivity? Does Satan have you in bondage with bad habits and a lifestyle that doesn’t glorify God? You can break Satan’s hold over you, confess your sin, and return to God and He will free you of your captivity and bring you into His presence. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJV) 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) Do not linger in sin. Confess your sin to God and He will forgive you and bring you out of bondage into His presence. Let’s pray: Father, You know my heart and my lifestyle. Nothing is hidden from You. Take everything that doesn’t glorify you out of my life and let me stand in Your presence forgiven and clean from all wrong-doing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
