Right First. Then Wrong.

So this philosophy is 350 years old. And technically it's not a philosophy. It's a TRICK! But I guess if you need to get someone you care about off the wrong life path you'll do whatever is necessary, by any means necessary.
“The 17th century philosopher Blaise Pascal ... set out the most effective way to get someone to change their mind, centuries before experimental psychologists began to formally study persuasion. ...”
Formally study?? I think sometimes that I should have been a psychologist. That way I could just myself assigned to a “study team” and have a steady paycheck.
Anyway! I think though … I'm going to say this is a technique or philosophy or trick that can be applied perhaps 99% of the time or rather on a case-by-case basis. Because … well because ... particularly in the field of psychology ... nothing mankind ever thinks of is ever 100%.
(My opinion which will not change even if you can supply facts in an attempt to dissuade me.
)
And … uumm … another thought is that … humans have been in existence for a lot longer than three and a half centuries. So since they say the philosophy is 350 years old, now I'm wondering ... How many major historical events are the result of just telling somebody or a group of people they were WRONG … right from the start!
One crazy thought leads to another. (Yawn.)
Good morning y'all! I need my second cup of coffee.

By the way, I found this article because I use the Firefox browser and when I open a tab it suggests/displays these various articles for me to read. The tagline says “Stories that fuel the mind.”
Sometimes I pay attention. Sometimes I ignore them.
