OBetty called yesterday afternoon at about 3:30 and said she wanted to take her sort-of-feral beautiful gray cat to the vet right now. Would I bring my pet carrier over and come pick them up. I'm like huh? now? She said he is to the point where he comes in and sits on her bed and wants to be petted and eats inside most of the time and for some reason she had come to the conclusion she would be his Mom... and thought he had worms, come and take us to the vet. So..I locked up the house, tossed the pet carrier in the car and we went to the vet...with a beautiful gray, upset cat in the back. Now.. Obetty is very hard of hearing and at 84 shes still mentally okay but, as for all of us, the tack is not as sharp as it once was. The people at the vets office had no intention of doing what she wanted so...(koff) I stepped in and 'explained it' to them. This is why we are here, this is what will be done. When the vet came in the room I explained it to him: she wants this kitty examined, tested, treated, medicated (if needed), neutered, and returned in good shape to be her very loved baby for the rest of his life. I said: talk to her, but speak simple and loud. He stared at me for a second then said: Ok! lol.. He got the message and said no problem, we will make sure he's in good shape and sing soprano.... call ya tomorrow. lol.. I'm pretty sure the kitty is sorry as hell he sat on that bed, but hey... we shall see, huh?

Atleast you were there to help her and to explain what was needed to the vet.

Betty is the local cat lady but she is not as sharp as she once was but I thought maybe it would be good opportunity to make sure the cat was healthy. I did not tell Betty maybe she was a bit old to bring in a permanent kitty but hey..maybe it will keep her going, huh?

@EeWhan it might very well keep her going. Perhaps you can pay a visit to her atleast once a week just to check in on her and the kitty.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I live just a few units away from her so I do stop by a lot while walking the dog.. Its a nice 55+ mobile home park.. Love it here.. I bet the kitty won't be comfortable for a few days, but when he heals life will be good.
