Anna Denton is a woman of her time

Anna Denton is the daughter of a tool tradesmen. Her father owns a well known store in Chicago, where he sells tools. His business has been doing well for years, however, he's gotten down on his luck and his store is nearing ruin. On top of that, Mabel, his youngest daughter, needs a new type of treatment that will cost quite a bit of money. His old friend, a man by the name of Bradwell, offers financial rescue. All Anna's father must do is send her to his old friend as his new bride. Anna's father brings her into his office and lays everything out to her, explaining in some detail the financial situation he is in. He doesn't give her much of a choice, she either sacrifices herself for the benefit of her family, or she goes down in ruin with them. Anna chooses to marry Bradwell who lives in Alaska. Anna is a character from the book Towards The Midnight Sun by Eoin Dempsey. It won't be bad for Anna if Bradwell is an okay person not abusive or anything.

I am pretty sure the book isn't going to let her off so easily. I haven't gotten to him yet, they are still traveling.

It really depends on how dire the situation is, doesn't it? I don't know that I would be able to do it, but I'd like to think that I would.
