It is Chinese New Year, and yet, news has it Wuhan, China is a ghost town. No celebration. Something strange. Especially for the Chinese who welcome each new year with firecrackers blasting loud.
Reason being is the novel coronavirus that has claimed lives, infected hundreds, and has threatened the world and air travel.
We need to educate ourselves and read this. For all our sake.

My guess is that we will see more and more bad viruses because of the climatic change. I read today that searchers found 20 "new" (in fact very old) viruses trapped in the ice in the Himalaya. When the ice melt the viruses are freed. Most are not dangerous but some may. As viruses evolve/mutate very quickly, nobody knows at what was looking the plague in the Middle-Age, for example, we can really worry for our future. Thank you for the link.

Us Human beings have devalued and debased the overall Earth's environment over past many centuries.
And well, nature strikes back in many ways.

thank you for the info.
we really have to boost our immune system. Most cases of those have a low or compromised immune system prone to having secondary diseases. As it is a virus, no medicines is available but just treating the symptoms.
I hope this will not spread more.

Yes, let us pray and hope this novel coronavirus cease from spreading.
In the mean time, aside from boosting our immune system, people must also be aware that exotic food such as snake and bats could be detrimental to the body.
Thank you for the concern.

@rakski That is correct. The market's cleanliness is questionable, too.

From the news, all transportation is banned in Wuhan City which means residents there cannot go out of the city and probably no one can come in. It looks like the contamination is citywide already that even Beijing is scared.

Found out from netflix's Pandemic documentary, just this morning, that China is really the breeding place for viruses.

@Alexandoy Perhaps you could go direct to netflix and watch. A little scary but absolutely empirical.

@eileenleyva I hope it will not come to us. I heard from the news here that a German school class students are no longer allowed to go to China for their school outings because of the virus. I think it is safe that way.

@Nevena83 Medical research is dashing for a universal anti-virus that, they say, might take time to come up with.
In the mean time, keep consuming anti-oxidants especially the ginger. Could help in resisting viral infection.

If anything no one is telling us or giving any advice as to what we could do.
They are trying to get the Spanish Football trainers back here and it will take some time for them.
Just one example of how things go.
The Chinese here keep themselves to thamselves and don“t seem to be bothered by what is going on in their place over there.

Let's pray for a way to get the trainers home.
It's a different scenario in my country where in the past days, the Chinese have come disguising themselves as tourists. Plane loads, that is.
Of course, my people are angry. One female Chinese who arrived from Hongkong but whose place of origin is China has just been declared positive for ncov.
The discrimination has started. The Chinese here are being ostracized. Grab drivers have cancelled their services once they know their passengers were Chinese. The bank tellers also are reluctant to serve the Chinese. It's like being Chinese means virus carrier. Or contagious disease.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I gather that as much, that the flu is worse. But then considering the rising number of the infected and the unknown nature of the novel coronavirus, plus China not being totally upfront with the news being released, this 2019 novel coronavirus seem scary.

Wuhan City is a destination in China. It has direct flights to key cities in the world. Easy access for virus spread.
