No internet for a couple of days!!

Hey everyone! I need a rant LOL For the past few days, I’ve not been able to log into MyLot and my other sites because my internet was down :( We use fibre and from time to time, it’s accidentally cut during various works such as construction and maintenance. While it may not be deliberate, it’s very highly frustrating, especially if you are self-employed like me and my husband because all work grinds to a halt with all the lost precious time. Luckily, my brother has some sway in the industry and played a role in getting it restored in record time. In the end, we lost two and a half days when it could have dragged on for a week or more! So here I am :) I don’t know about you but I hate losing the internet even for an hour. It always feels like everything’s at a standstill!

That happened to us from Jan 1 to Jan 3. No internet due to upgrade of equipment by our provider.

That's so annoying but at least in the end, the service improved. Or at least I'd like to think that's what happened :)

@Alexandoy I hope it has improved significantly. I worked for an ISP and sometimes when there were technical issues, we were told by the higher-ups to tell the customers that we needed to conduct a software update

@Lushlala you are right, they claim that the service improved because the downtime of more than 2 days is for the upgrading of their equipment. That's what the internet provider staff said.

Sometimes I have issues with my home internet but I always have data in my phone for those occasions.

Is data not expensive in your country? Lord, it costs an arm and a leg here! Plus, I find it hard to work on my phone or tablet.

@nela13 Oh, you're so lucky! Over here, some people can't afford the internet and resort to buying 'data bundles' which can be bought in smaller denominations but are actually more expensive because they don't last long. I'm just glad I can afford unlimited internet. I could rely on the data bundles.

I HATE them because I'm a freelancer and a lot of the work I do remotely comes from abroad :( I work 7 days a week and could do without any outages.

Oh, this is a record. And I can't even say it was because the ISP is fantastic. I strongly believe it was because my brother stepped in. A week without the internet would depress me

@DianneN It's very annoying LOL Yesterday it was very up and down and I was holding my breath, praying it wouldn't disappear again Luckily, it didn't -phew!

@Lushlala I am sorry you did not have internet. That is very hard if you are self-employed and rely upon the internet for your living. I hate when the internet goes down too.

I need my internet too. I would be totally annoyed if my internet was not cooperating for a couple of days! But yes, this has happened to me too!

I'm so lucky where I live as although my internet might drop out for a short while sometimes I am never completely cut off. It would drive me insane if I couldn't get online for days.
