Interesting fact, (sad but interesting)
there were more than 4500 accidents involved deer and cars in Maine.
(less than 30 cards were totaled during Deer accidents)!
There were 460 or so accidents involving a car and a moose.
In the car moose accidents, more than 400 of the cars were totaled.
(totaled, means the insurance company will not fix the car and gives you money for a car worth the same as the car you were driving).
That got me thinking - have you ever hit anything other than another car while driving (or riding in the car).

No...but we would have liked to have seen a moose when we were in Maine. We spent hours in "moosey" spots to no avail.

i have hit a car three times, once was my fault.
so far I've never hit an animal but i think i would have the same reaction as you and just start crying if i did.

@DocAndersen It was crazy. And, he live. He ran into the front and was afraid and ended up hitting the passenger side door. Lucky it was early in the morning and it did not cause and more trouble than my husband's car being wrecked.

I have not driven in a very long time so cannot remember if I hit an animal. I try to make sure I do not hit any animals on my scooter.

I have to be extra careful with my mobility scooter because I have no insurance or a license so have to watch out so they do not hit me.

I hit something crossing the road one night...judging by its size (and no smell) I’m thinking it was a possum (not a skunk). Broke my heart to hit an animal.
I saw the moose signs in Maine, too. I did chuckle, but I would imagine that would do some MAJOR damage to a car.
