My Gypsy gets into a terriblr state during a storm. She shakes and licks her lips , yawns and her temperature goes up. I worry that she'll have a fit or a heart attack or be horriby ill. On the other hand, Ben, my other dog isn't at all worried by storms. They say not to fuss or cuddle the dog or try to soothe it because that's rewarding the behaviour. I tell her "it's OK" and laugh and that settles her for about 1 second. Does anyone have any ways to calm a frightened dog? Please?

No. I don't have a pet dog. My pet cat used to get alerted and bit frightened by slightest sound outside.

That would be distressing. My cat is usually the cause of outside noises one way or another.
