Day 176
Promise 234
Psalm 94:20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frames mischief by a law?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 But the LORD is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
Do you have someone in your corner when life comes against you?
The psalmist recognized Satan’s mischief in his life and the lives of those around him. He knew his defense came from God and God would keep him safe and all those who trusted Him.
As Christians, you fight a daily battle against Satan and his demons. His temptations come at you like flaming arrows. When you fall, he is quick to condemn you for your weak faith. Yet, when you trust in Jesus and confess your sin, He becomes your defense and fights for you.
You need to put on the full armor of God so you can stand against Satan when he attacks. Paul showed you how to stand.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
John showed how Satan accuses you daily before God.
Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (KJV)
John also gave you the remedy to be free of Satan.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
God promised He would cut off Satan and all those who work against those who trust Him.
Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
God predetermined Satan’s destiny when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. The day is coming when God will fulfill His promise and sentence him to eternal damnation in the lake of fire and brimstone.
You have nothing to fear from Satan or his temptations. When you trust God to keep you safe, He will be your defense, your refuge, and your deliverance.
Let’s pray: Father, You are my defense against Satan. Help me remember that when Satan comes against me with his many temptations and accuses me before Your throne. Help me put my armor on and keep it on. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
