A breakthrough with Artificial Intelligence

Sophia the Humanoid Robot
January 29, 2020 4:44pm CST
The 20th century made progress when it comes to robotics in the past years. This technology has been evolving year by year and surprisingly with this advancement comes new discoveries most especially with artificial intelligence. This is the most exciting part in the field of robotics to create a modeled robot out of human imitation. That being said, most recently a group of engineers created a humanoid robot that can answer and communicate the basic idea of problem solving that gathers facts about a situation through sensors or human input. This humanoid robot is called/named Sophia. She is a social AI (artificial intelligence) robot developed by by Hong Kong based company Hanson Robotics. She was activated on February 14, 2016, and made her first public appearance at South by Southwest Festival in mid-March 2016 in Austin, Texas, United States and is able to display more than 60 facial expressions. More recently this marvel technology garnered media appearances such as at the CNBC, a vlog from Will Smith's YouTube channel, and also a sit down interview with Jimmy Fallon. What are your thoughts about AI technology? comment down below.

Sophia is like other robot AI out there that mimics the facial impressions of human. Scary that this might end up in a good way or bad way depending on how it's creators use them.

Yes, some might take advantage off of it and might do it for the wrong reasons. But for now, she is widely endorsed for entertainment and for advance human interaction research. Thanks for your reply.

Yeah i heard about that too (not really sure about the citizenship part though) Sophia and her team went to the KSA for a symposium about Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Thanks for your response!
