Biggest Pet Peeve

My biggest pet peeve is the cell phone. I'm one of the few who doesn't own one. People are often amazed at that. The cell phone is a very alluring gadget. Anything you need to know or do right at your fingertips. People are always on their cell phone, usually multi tasking, in stores, waiting rooms, dining table while eating with friends, instead of paying attention to the real live people around them. It irritates me when someone I'm dining out with has their phone on the table and has a need to costantly check it in the middle of conversation. Oh, and what about the people with their face in there cell phone while they cross the street? It doesn't bother me that I don't have a cell phone. However, it seems that those without are loosing the abillity to utilize sales and such when many coupons are now "no clip". Just click. There are many sites I can't sign up for, because they require a cell number. Some places now will only take a payment through your cell phone instead of credit card or cash. Last summer my daughter and her boyfriend parked at a lot in Boston to take a train to Fenway. The only form of payment was through the cell phone. Thank God her step daughter had the app on her phone. No matter how unfair it is to penalize people without cell phones I still will not get one. Will spend my money on much needed things instead. I often say that someday cell service would just ceased to exist. People wouldn't know how to exist and some would suffer serious withdrawal and depression. Lord help them all.
