I have insurance on my phone, I pay a good amount for it, well it broke today and I contacted, and filed a claim for replacement , so I’m told that oh you need to pay a $250:dollar deductible to have it replaced, I’m paying about $30 a month for the insurance on the phone which should more than cover the cost!
The phone cannot be used, and they are telling me try this and that with your phone or just give us the $250 umm no, not happening!
The thing barely fell and was in a case and still it shattered. So no I won’t be getting the IPhone 11, especially not through Verizon, this. was the last straw!

That is the problem with insurance. There is the so called fine print. We don't enter in such arrangement. When we buy a new appliance, we are offered insurance for 1 year or 2 years for a minimal fee. No way.

Yeah, I usually opt out but this phone was insanely expensive now it’s worthless! I will be replacing the phone, but not through them, this was the final straw! I have to have a phone working with kids!

This is maddening! Especially when you think you are covered! Is this phone over 900 dollars? When I asked about insurance , there was always a deductible. They try to rush u thru the details of these insurance, that is why I won't be rushed.

Yes it was, it was the IPhone XS Max! And then I’m told that I need to use the phone to get into my account and verify everything they don’t get the meaning of a broken phone!

@Michellekidwell that's right, the phone is broken!! Your info should be able to be picked up and transferred to your new phone.

@db20747 I’m changing carriers for the last two months this one has been rude, I was hung up on twice, the day I learned of G.G’s passing, when I was calling about a double billing, that they did finally fix, but it took them almost three weeks to do so, then I tried talking to someone yesterday and I’m told there’s literally nothing they can do, so I talk to the insurance portion of the company and after telling me that I have to pay a crazy amount to get the phone fixed, they try to get me to buy more insurance on top of paying to have the phone repaired, I told them no thanks!

Wow, that's super frustrating! I don't blame you for not wanting to deal with paying that much out of pocket to replace the phone.
Have you checked with any local technicians to see if someone can repair it? The shops around here charge way less than that for the service, so it might be worth checking into.
Also: if you pay your phone bill with a credit card, it could be worth looking into the benefits the issuer offers its cardmembers. I was reading the offers for the Citi Double Cash Card not too long ago. It's a World Elite Mastercard and one of the benefits it offers is coverage for phones, and the only thing you have to do to qualify for that coverage is pay your phone bill with the card.
