Hi everyone! A very good evening to all. I am currently writing a set small childrens short stories. It will be a set of ten or so moral stories for children five to ten. I am thinking to self publish them on Amazon. So my current doubts are, Have you written a book? I would like to read them Have you ever published it? How to self publish on Amazon (KDP)?

@Wana1234 I think it is free. But I think the they will charge thirty percent of the price we sell.

Hello Bunny. I see Marlina mentioned me to you. I use Amazon. I've published all my books with them. The process is easy as long as you follow their guidelines. You can go two routes - you can have them do all the work for publishing, or you can do the work yourself. If they do it, it will cost you upwards of $1000 or more. If you do all the editing yourself and the entire process, it's free. There are two different setups for that. One is KDP Select - that's the one where they do all the work for publishing and costs $1000+ or KDP Direct - free. I use KDP Direct. I write adult Christian fiction, though I have written children's stories. My certificate is from the Insititute of Children's Literature. If you can write for children, you can write for anyone. It's great you want to write for children as there is a great need for children's writers.

@KityCat I hope it works out well for you. Making it as an author is tough. I have five books published. I wish I could say they've sold well. I'm happy when I get a royalty check.

Thank you very much for your valuable information. I have never written a book nor published it. So it's going to be my first step as a writer.

Writing stories especially for children is good. I appreciate that. No I have not published anything so far. And sorry I've no idea and let's see if someone helps with their answers. I will also know then and it will be useful for me too
