Time To Let Go

Lately, I've been going through all my clothes, books, shoes, and just everything. Why?
I finally reached a state of mind where I could 'let go' of many, many things. It wasn't easy as I've held on to all ... treasured all.
I arrived at this state of mind by thinking, talking to myself ... asking myself why am I keeping so many things. We have moved ... they just take up so much space. Do you know what made me decide to let go?
I had a thought come to mind that makes sense ... I have no one close in my immediate family to leave anything to ... no one to treasure the things I had. Tommy, my son, is gone ... he would have been the only person in the world who would have treasured 'his mom's things'.
It took quite a time for it to happen ... for all my things to become strangers to me ... so when I looked at them ... they no longer pulled at my heart ... no longer made me want to keep them. Yesterday ... I let go. Yesterday I let a lady come to get furniture, and so many things ... she has the option to keep what she wants ... and share with others when they need things as that is what she does. She helps people who get in situations and need things.
Today, I have taken many sighs of relief knowing I have let go of things that have weighed me down. This is about the 4th-5th pickup load I've let go. I think I'm going to do it once again in the future.

Thank you. It felt right. I am finding I don't miss anything at all and that was a lot of stuff!

Hello Thelma! It's so nice to see you too. I am still going to 'let go' of more things ... I just want an uncluttered life now.

You are right. I still have more things to go through ... I can take time now as I've gotten the bulk of so much taken care of.
