In the American legal system, insanity is considered a viable defense for a criminal. However, I am wary of insanity defenses, it's likely that many criminals are in fact perfectly sane, and just want courts to go easy on them, so they feign insanity for the sympathy.I know of a couple famous cases where that occurred, one was the case of a mobster.
If you were on a jury, would you be wary as well?

I agree that the insanity defense has been abused. Oh yes, I'd be wary of it if I was on a jury! However, it would be my duty as a juror to not rule out any possibilities until I've heard all evidence.

I would definitely be wary. What's even worse is the Affluenza Defense.
