If you’re born in the 90’s when music was not completely altered with special effects and mellow and stripped down vocals were a thing and impactful. Then, her name isn’t new to you. I’m talking about Alanis Morissette. She was one of the famous and pioneering female solos in the 90’s that led the way to new alternative female singers at her time. She also, paved the way on embracing women’s empowerment and to not be afraid of your gender with the expression in music. Alanis Nadine Morissette is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. Known for her emotive mezzo-soprano voice, Morissette began her career in Canada in the early 1990s. She was notable for her songs such as “ironic”, “hand in my pocket” and her album Jagged Little Pill and garnered 7 Grammy’s, 1 Brit Awards, and 12 Juno Awards. Her songs are an anthem of the 90s however, as the era’s progresses and new music and new style of Pop Culture arose. She step back at the spotlight and lived a private life starting early 2000’s. But great news because she is hitting the road announcing that she will be back in the music industry starting off with a North American tour in 2020 that will celebrate 25 years since her breakthrough album, "Jagged Little Pill." The 31-date tour will kick off on June 2, 2020. As a 90s kid are you excited for her come back? What’s the song you known from Alanis? Comment down below.

I remember she quit music to concentrate on being a mom and wife. Also she is like the Taylor Swift of the 90's because 85- percent of her songs are about her exes..... (Ryan Reynolds) After having no heart break for a long time she is not able to write songs due to happiness. I love her songs, Ironic,Hands clean and Oughta know.

Yeah, a lot of her songs were about past relationships sorta like the Taylor Swift of the 90s minus the mini skirt but just pure jam and no gimmickry (not that Taylor aint good don't get me wrong). Yeah she was focused on her career as a Mother and a Wife but i am glad to hear she is back and she did not lose her craft. I so love Ironic and (You) oughta know lol Those were the music bay when radio programming was the fad. Thank you so much for your reply!

@CaptAlbertWhisker Not able to write songs out of happiness I can kind of believe that but also think you not trying hard enough if that is the case. I can find something every day to make me unhappy. The story I heard is she become to self aware as her album was an attack on men. I did not find it like that, just a bad break up like her songs say but it made her step back and her music suffered because she was playing safe and not letting out that raw side of her. I do not think we will ever get that back no matter how she is feeling these days. I like when people prove me wrong though.

@crossbones27 Good point on that! It's either her management doesn't know how to cope up with the new trends (most likely Pop-ish fully digitized music unlike her brand). But more likely, yeah she's probably living the laylow private life at some point but i am glad that she is back on the scene regardless. we'll see.

Nice bio brother, I did not even know some of that. I have heard she is going to put herself out there again. I hope its like Jagged little pill because was true and she just a much better musician when she lets it all out.

I think she'll remain relevant and she will stick to her brand. You gotta check her performance on the Howie Stern podcast where she performed Hand in my Pocket! She still kills it! plus the harmonica! oh, the memories... Thanks for your reply!
