Two tires and I am broke.

I was meaning to have a relaxing weekend with my daughter - do some grocery for supplies and subsistence, and quiet nights free of distressing news. Alas, I was given a taxing one. The security guard at the condominium establishment where my daughter resides prompted me that my front tire was flat. I went to the nearest fuel station for air, just to know that the rubber had been torn. Apparently, I had been running flat a few kilometers without feeling it. The wheel wasn't heavy at all. Good thing I had a good spare. Thus, my daughter withdrew some cash so we could buy a new tire. Time ran out of us though, the tire shops were closed, and my wheels have specification number not readily available. My Saturday ended on a gloom note. Sunday though was more productive. Brought my daughter back to the hospital for duty, heard Mass at a Shrine, and when business hours commenced, I was first customer at the tire shop. Alas, the tire changer showed me my other tire needed changing, too. Sigh. I only had money for one. Hu hu. But then he told me to avail of the none-branded ones made in Southeast Asia, instead of my usual brands. That means I could get two at pretty much the same price with one branded tire. I did. With a five-month guarantee. I was left with wallet almost empty, except for a few more bills for my week's subsistence. And I purchased a fish, vegetables, and fruits, including sweet camote that is stomach filling, to last me for the week. I couldn't go over my budget. Saving for change oil and taxes. Sigh.

This reminds me that our car's tires are 7 years old already, those are original tires. So maybe we have to buy a new set.

Yes. The tires are most important. We can never be careful when it comes to tires. Servitek check is free. I don't know with Rapide.

@eileenleyva there is a Bridgestone dealer near our place. For sure our tires need no check for it is really due for replacement already.

@eileenleyva our former tires were Yokohama. But last year when I saw the Bridgestone here, I decided to have that to replace the 4 tires of my car. This year it is my wife's car that need new tires.

Cars are a pain but a necessary expense.

Mine is an old car. Maintenance is a must. The lube bay has become a tryst every three months: change oil and filter, camber and bushing check, brake pads, etcetera, not to mention the aircon filter and freon check that are so expensive. As the old dads say, maintenance of a car is like putting a child to college.
