What do you think of those who write to prisoners on Death Row?

Years ago I knew a woman who used to write to a prisoner on Death Row. She was convinced of his innocence and was campaigning to get him released.
I have been watching a Netflix series called "I am a Killer" which interviews those who have been given the death penalty and I have to say they are very convincing and sometimes charming when they give their version of what happened. They then interviewed people who had been witnesses at the crime who gave a completely different version of events and it is clear that these men who were professing their innocence really had carried out the killings. One even paid someone on the outside to kill a witness.
Some women seem to be attracted to this type of person, they have even been known to carry on a romance and marry them while inside.
Would you write to a prisoner on Death Row? What do you think of those who do?

Some of them are very convincing liars though. You could never be sure whether they were being held on a miscarriage of justice or not.

Maybe some of them did so for justice being done.

Yes and they convince themselves they are innocent and they are only there through a miscarriage of justice.
