Wanting to File a Long Leave from work

Right after being sick for almost three days and had one absence from work last Monday, I was back on my feet on Tuesday, ready to work again! I have a lot on my plate lately and I need to take good care of them. There is no one else to take over because I am the lead of some activities.
I was welcomed with a series of meetings and the implementation of some projects this week. While I was at the meeting with my Big Boss, I asked him if I could file a long leave next week just to get the rest I feel I need. He only chuckled because he knew that he needs me that much. When I told him that I have not fully recovered yet adding more drama to my request, he even made a joke that I needed to get a check-up because I might carry the virus that has been spreading right now. Knowing him as a joker, I never felt offended. We just both laughed together.
But on a serious note, he told me that if I feel that I really need it, he won't be having second thoughts of granting it but not this week!

Maybe not at this time as he needs you. But he should grant one later to you. Sometimes we all need that.

You are right. May be because of the work load I have been attending lately.
