Have you seen this awesome movie called Angela's Ashes?

I saw it a few days ago on TV and found it as one of the best movies to portray Irish society evils and dreams, after Magdalene Sisters. Have you seen it? And if you have what is your opinion about it?

I haven't seen the book, but I am now about to finish up the book itself, and to be honest, I don't know about Magadelene Sisters, but this book is past sad. now I have read of folks coming up poor. I have seen poor with my own eyes. To read of this family's plight, makes you want to say, you know, I'm not as poor as I think. Talk about scrambling. This family basically had to take on jobs, do what it could to just survive! and we're talking about Depression era/WW2 Ireland. perhaps they should have stayed in the U.S. to me. eventually, things would have turned for them. By WW2, Angela could have been a Rosie the Riveter. but to put up with crap and ridicule to get on the dole, that is beyond sad. I think it should be required reading for young kids here in the US. why? perhaps if they sit and holler well, I don't have this or that, and they read this book, they'll think otherwise. I'm sure the film would do that for them as well if you are talking about how good it is.

This is one movie I'd absolutely love to see. I am reading the book now for the second time, and after finishing it, I'm going to read the next two books in the series. I read the book back in 2004, but then my sister gave my mother the entire set, and she loaned them to me.
