My game playing is extending into my life now.

I want to take what I learn even when playing a game and use it in my life. Now the game that I've been playing has improved and I'm liking it again. Someone another player suggested that I just play the game the way I wanted to and not worry about what others think or say. Is that what you do too or..? I mean what you do with your decisions; not just with your online stuff but in your actual life as well.
