We didn't like either of these houses, but you wouldn't either

The first house was just gaudy. The whole house was decorated in either red and white ceramic tile or shag carpeting. The bathrooms were fully decorated in the tile and even the toilets had the tile on its tank and seat.
There were individual furniture pieces throughout the house just made out of the tile, not a pillow or blanket to add any kind of cushion. The owner was proud of the house, but she needed to sell because she was getting older and wanted to move closer to her children and grandchildren.
We quickly said thanks, but no thanks to that one. She managed to get my brother in law to take one of the chairs with us. Most of us wanted to take it straight to the dump, but we were pretty sure it'd end up a feature of our new house.
The second house we looked at was better. There were lots of comfortable surfaces and lots of unique furnishings too. There were tables that looked as if they were made out of distressed wood but the owner had just painted it that way. All of us really liked this place at first, but the further we walked into it, the worse it got. The hallways were narrow, and some of the doorways were too short. There was a bedroom right off from the kitchen where a couple of the owners tenants slept. They were non-negotiable, if we bought the house they'd be renting from us. A few of us thought that wouldn't be so bad, but then we met the people.
They were messy, loud and unashamed. After awhile even the owner sensed our hesitance and decided to just kick us out.
Guess we weren't going to decide on a house today.

Then I woke up, but not before lots of other weirder stuff happened that I might talk about in another post.

I'm a little upset with myself this morning, there are parts of the dream that have faded away from my memory. We were trying to get away from some unsavory people in part of the dream, but I can't recall a lot of it now.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm so sorry. I know that has to be frustrating.

You remember your dreams so vividly. I never do. I know everyone dreams but I can't remember the last time I remembered one of mine.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I must admit that when I do remember one it is usually a scary one. Thankfully it's not often.

@sprite1950 That is good. Those scary ones are awful! I usually try to forget it as soon as possible.

Last night's dreams were a bit horrific, so I won't even talk about them today. Sometimes I wish I didn't remember my dreams.

@ScribbledAdNauseum When we got this house about 8 years ago, the kitchen an laundry room had icky butter yellow and chocolate brown tiles. The kitchen was since then remodeled, but the laundry room still has a bit of it (hidden by the washer and dryer luckily), but one day we will have to change that out.

@much2say There's a group on facebook called Weird Secondhand Finds that just need to be shared. Sometimes you'll see people who have just moved into a house and discovered funky wallpaper or flooring as they renovate.

Haha, yes, good thing they were! I don't think a house with lots of tile features would really sale in this day and age!

I don't really wish I was home shopping, I just wish we could do some much needed repairs and painting. A new carpet in a few rooms too.

@RebeccasFarm It sounds as if it would benefit you if you could move. Your neighbors seem rude, and also dangerous!

They are!
Even in my dream, I was just ready to go back home and go to bed!

I spent most of my dream time trying to retype a page. No matter how many times I tried to retype it, something was wrong with it.

Oh that sounds like a very frustrating dream! Was it on a typewriter or on a computer keyboard?

@LindaOHio Hmm, that's odd. Have you ever worked as a secretary? Something where you had to do a lot of typing?

@ScribbledAdNauseum An old manual typewriter...then I switched to an electric typewriter. Still had problems.

It was so weird! I wouldn't even know how to classify it. It wasn't quite 70's (shag carpet was prevalent but...)
