Hey, it snowed overnight! Where’s that dang groundhog? He’s about as accurate as the trained weathermen! Oh, well. We’re just a week away from Valentines Day and the ending of this month-and-a-half countdown of favorites that have “love” in the title. Here’s today’s song from the top ten.
#8: It’s Not Love (But It’s Not Bad) - Merle Haggard
Hag. See ya tomorrow.
Oh, wait a second.
Hag wasn’t all turning 21 in prison learning things in a hobo jungle. Like any good country singer he could do just about anything. And he did. He sang of the hard times, and I guess you could stick this song in that category. A man has a colder-than-a-mother-in-law’s-kiss wife, so he goes somewhere else. There are crude terms for what this song’s about, but you know ‘em, so I won’t say ‘em.
Merle Haggard died on his 79th birthday in 2016. He left a treasure trove of incredible country music.

Well I know who Merle Haggard is. I'm not complaining about the s**w and ice. We've had a mild winter; and it will warm up again in a few days! AND there are only 41 days until spring!

Don’t shed a little bitty tear over Hank Cochran.
