We got hacked!

Philippines
February 8, 2020 7:33am CST
Hello there. Checked the new bill today and found out that our billing address changed. After a few run around with the customer services on the phone, they finally threw me off back to the store where I instead dealt with another CSR personally and had it changed. What frustrates me was that none of them admitted that the account was hacked! This is the first time that's ever happened to us.

Well, it's a phone bill @rakski and I have no clue why because they DIDN'T give me any kind of explanation. All i had to guess was it was hacked or they messed it up over there.

Or it might have some problems when they run their billing system. That can happen though if there are some careless employees who may have deleted something in the database and can mess the reading and printing of the bills. If the account was hacked then for what purpose did they do that.

@Letranknight2015 I once worked at a Telecom company and during those times when they ran the system there are things that could happen sometimes when you are processing thousands of bills there are times due to human error they may have deleted unintentionally data or a row the whole billing may give wrong data. Although nowadays it is primarily done without human intervention anymore but things like this happens. It was not necessarily hacked but a glitch in the system happens every now and then.

@rsa101 I check the whole bill thorough today and it seems there were no other calls over the last few days. I guess you're right. But they should have done it in the call already and not forced me to visit their store and service center.

Hello @rsa101 I would have remained furious nonetheless since were paying a huge amount per month. yourself is having a hard time believing it was hacked. We had this account for more than a decade we never had problems like this.

@louievill They could have just said it in the first place. they can't even agree with me about the address on the last few bills even if they knew it was an old account. The ran around was terrible.

It might have been a mistake. Hackers dont want the bill. They want you to pay it.

Hello @wolfgirl569 It's either a huge glitch on their part or it really was hacked. Not only the billing address but also the birth date of the account holder.

Oh my. That is scary. Maybe someone in that billing company is not doing his job correctly.

Hello @thelme55 Yeah if that's true then they refused to admit it. But angrily gave me the run around!
