Day 187
Promise 245
Psalm 107:23 They who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters;
24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distresses.
29 He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so, he brings them unto their desired haven.
31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
Every day you have opportunities to see God’s wonders. Nature is a good example. Have you been mesmerized by a rainbow? Storms illumine night skies with flashes of lightning. Yet, those storms can destroy. Storms cause people to look to God to bring them out of trouble.
How often do you praise God when He brings you through great trials and turns your troubles into triumphs?
The psalmist showed that when God delivered people from trouble, they should praise God for keeping them safe in the storm.
As Christians, you know life is full of storms. When you come through one storm, another is waiting on the horizon.
Satan will do everything he can to destroy your faith. If you forget to praise God when He delivers you from the storm, he won. Don’t let Satan win in your storms. Give God praise during the storm and watch Him deliver you from your trouble. Then give God praise for His deliverance.
Noah built an altar when the flood abated and gave God praise for keeping him safe.
Genesis 8:20 And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Abram’s storm was that he didn’t have an heir. God made a promise to Abram when he was childless, and Abram built an altar.
Genesis 12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there built he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
God delivers His people from prison.
Acts 5:17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. (KJV)
Acts 16:23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. (KJV)
Do you need deliverance from the storms in your life? Give God praise in everything. When you do, Satan cannot gain a foothold in your life.
Let’s pray: Father, help me praise You in the storm and when You bring calm to my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Most people are ungrateful to return the blessings they receive in any form to God. Thus it has been said that being ungrateful is the sin of all ages.

@just4him That's very true.
Wherever you may go there are many of them.
Just a simple word or phrase of thank you they can't utter or say it simply.
