A not for profit group that began in 1964 called Boston Partners in Education (BPiE) serves a wonderful purpose for adults who want to give to their communities while assisting young students to gain confidence in getting better in school courses that they having a hard time getting ahead. The mentor program has an adult who has knowledge of a subject matter and he or she wants to assist a student who can use some one on one teaching. The mentor works with the student one hour a week. The student learns what is the root cause of what causes them to have a hard time trying to solve problems related to the school subject matter. I hope that this idea is used in all schools around the world since the children are going to be our future leaders. Having an adult who has been there and done that is a great way for a child to learn how to be successful in a school course that they like.

In my country, we call that tutorial. I was a tutor, too, for the longest time. My tutees, in the beginning, were boys running for honors. Eventually, in my own study center, I did accept slow learner tutees. Very challenging, this role is. I do commend the mentors in that Boston program.

Having a mentor spend quality time with a student who needs someone to help them overcome the obstacles in a subject matter is priceless.

@amitkokiladitya A good mentor will build confidence with a student since they are not going to judge their student.

Giving education free of cost is a noble idea. People spend so much, sometimes beyond their means, to give private tuitions to their children at exorbitant cost.

That is true since having to pay back the student loan takes a lot of time.
