Pictured is one of my favorite books and the statue to go along with is that sit on my desk (For anyone not aware the statue is what is depicting as an artifact found during the events of "The Call of Cthulhu"). I find it very impressive that a fiction writer from 100 years ago is able to have their work referenced in so many places, not just Cthulhu (without a doubt the most referenced, remade and inspired work) but for the "Cosmic Horror" genre overall, and yes I know that as a person he wasn't perfect and had his downsides as being somewhat of a paranoid recluse and some not so nice feelings about other people but that aside I find that genre he helped forge very interesting and somewhat overwhelming because it isn't about "the good guys always win" or the typical shoot em up type action movie; it's about ordinary people trying to prevent very unordinary things from happening. This has inspired video and board games, movies, spin offs of all kinds. There is also a new Nicholas Cage movie (I know he's not A list and he's had his moments but I still kinda like him selectively) called Color Out of Space I'm wanting to see based on one of HPL's stories. Curious what your favorite story/inspired work of his is.

This is an author I've always wanted to read, but somehow never got to his books. Hopefully, one day...
