Covid China & Panic Pandemic

Been on a panic mode since January because of a novel coronavirus and guess what, the virus got a novel name - 'COVID-19,' certainly an appropriate adjective for the place of origin of the virus - China . which, despite its effort to manipulate the statistics to maintain an air of might, is actually decrepit.
An admittance from the virologists and experts in infectious diseases that the nature of the COVID-19 is novel, thus difficult to predict a pandemic. But the surge in China's graph, a plus 15 thousand cases in a day, is worrisome. In other words, a reason to panic.
Eerie though, that the people in authority are cautioning people not to allow panic become pandemic, so people would not panic buy masks that are made in China, because the Chinese cannot, at the moment, mass produce masks. Duh!
Language is wonderful. In my youth, words and sentences were definitive. Now, people do not even know how to answer yes and no, like in the interview that follows. But oh well, the alliteration in the current terminologies are good for posts like this.
There has been an alarming surge in the number of infections and deaths from the coronavirus that causes the illness named by scientists as COVID-19. Health ...

Scary indeed no doubt about it but I think we should not panic since they can blur our senses and instead of helping you to keep calm they could hasten you to it much faster. I think the proper thing to do is to be prepared and do the necessary precaution to avoid getting it. Maintaining healthy body and proper hygiene should be practiced at all times and the wearing of mask when in public places is a must to ensure not getting infected. Avoiding crowded places can also be a good measure to avoid them.

@eileenleyva Haha... Anyway I think you should calm down for a moment since we are not yet on a "Wuhan level" of alert yet. We have cases detected and confirmed and they are quarantined and there are no reports yet that anyone has infected anyone locally. So I think the level of fear that you have should be lowered further.
But I do agree that the panic that you have and that face mask did help you get out from getting a ticket from the traffic authorities.

@rsa101 You have a good point. But don't you wonder why is seems, with all the Chinese to the left of us, to the right of us, in front of us, and behind us, somehow, the deadly COVID-19 is afraid of us?
I think our prayers are working, though the Chinese are still in very grave danger. We have to double our prayers still.
Thanks for being broad-minded and accepting.
Panic mode will be shut off.

I know. But I am Ms. Panic precisely because I know that in any disaster or calamity that come my way, including this drastic disease, I'd certainly be first casualty.
The sugar in the blood has caused a condition that renders many of the afflicted immune compromised. Meaning - I cannot be too careful on such matters. Meaning - panic, panic on my part.
Gosh, and I handed down my face masks to the traffic enforcer. I violated a No U-turn, which I truly didn't see, because I was panicking, and that was my reason for being irresponsible - the ncov - which he said would not proliferate in our country, but I retaliated I am at risk, and showed him my pack of face masks, handed all to him and told him to protect his self. He let me go.

A very positive frame of mind. That is kindness.
Reality check though, God is angry, I think.

You are right it is getting scary and I hope our government ( Philippine)is not hiding anything from us like what those officials in Houbei did during the early onset of the disease

Yesterday, I made a wrong U-turn, an honest mistake because I truly didn't see the sign. I was apprehended, of course. The enforcer asked for the license and I wouldn't hand it to him. He reprimanded me. I retaliated that I am afraid of the coronavirus. Then he said that that virus is only in China. Nope, I said, and gave him a pack of face masks. He thanked me and told me to go.
Our government is not upfront with us. The people do not know the gravity of this situation.

@eileenleyva seems like they are more concerned with income from tourism, pleasing China including politicking with their one China policy towards Taiwan and sowing hate towards the Americans, EU, Catholics, the UN ( crazy WHO is part of the UN lol!), Abs-cbn !
etc...etc...
We can't relay on our government, we need to take the necessary precautions and preparations on our own, God help us.

There are 14 cases in the US now. So far it's under control. It could get out of control very easily.

I am truly praying and doing acts of mortification so that this disease would not spread any longer.
