Day 193 Promise 251 Psalm 121:1 (A Song of degrees.) I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help. 2 My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he who keeps thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Who do you turn to for help? Who is the first person to come to mind? Is the person reliable? Are you the person you trust most? The psalmist knew his help came from God alone. He trusted God to come to his aid and protect and preserve him from evil. When you preserve something, it lasts longer than it would if you didn’t. The psalmist knew that putting faith and trust in God would preserve his soul for eternity. As Christians, when you accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, you are preserving your soul. You are keeping it from destruction. Satan longs to destroy your soul and keep you from the knowledge of God. He will put every temptation he can in front of you to take you away from God. Yet, when you stand steadfast in God, Satan can’t harm you. God will preserve and protect you from all harm. Have you preserved your soul? Is Jesus your Savior and Lord? Let’s pray: Father, preserve and protect me from the evil Satan attempts to bring against me. Let my faith rise up and declare my salvation in You because I trust in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 15 February 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay. Only topic-related comments accepted.
