Day 196
Promise 254
Psalm 128:1 (A Song of degrees.) Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD; who walks in his ways.
2 For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.
5 The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.
Is your life blessed? Or are you one of many who look with envy at those who seem to have it all?
The psalmist said God blesses everyone who fears or reverences Him. God would bring plenty into their lives, and bless them with children. Not only would God bless them with children, but they would live to see their grandchildren.
As Christians, God showers your life with blessings when you trust Him.
Many Christians don’t see God’s blessings on their lives because they don’t trust in promises. They have seen so many promises given and none kept that it is hard to trust God to keep His promises. Yet, God never backed out of a promise. He kept every promise He made and will continue to keep His promises to you.
God promised to bless you, make you fruitful, and provide you with everything you need – food, clothes, shelter, and children.
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
God takes care of everything in His creation. He will take care of you too. You only need to trust Him and stand on His promises.
Let’s pray: Father, help me trust You to act on Your promises to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
