Day 198 Promise 256, 257, 258, 259 Psalm 132:13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. 14 This is my rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. 15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. 16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. Have you been chosen for something unique? Do you have an abundant life? David names himself as the psalmist. He knew God’s provision and saw God work on his behalf and on behalf of Israel when they trusted God. He gave four ‘I will’ statements from God. God said He would dwell in Zion, Jerusalem, because it’s His chosen dwelling place. God said He would abundantly bless their provision. God said He would satisfy the poor with bread, food. God said He would clothe her priests with salvation. God’s ‘I will’ promises are for you today. As Christians, God dwells in You. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV) Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (KJV) God promised salvation in the Garden of Eden when He cursed Lucifer and told him he would be nothing more than a snake from then on and one day He would bring judgment on him when He provided a Savior to redeem the world back to Himself. Ge 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV) Because of Jesus’ salvation you are priests to God. 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: If you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, God dwells in you. He will bless you, provide for you, and clothe you with salvation. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for all the blessings and promises You gave me in Your Word. Remind me of Your promises when Satan comes to tempt and taunt me and tell me of my sin. Let me remind him of his eternal destination in the Lake of Fire. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Is is truly amazing how many promises God makes, and He never breaks them. My shortsighted heart sometimes forgets that, much to my own detriment. Having a heart of peace is something we can have because of His promises, His Word. I love that God does not depend on me because I'll never be good enough, but because of His grace I know I'll see Him in Heaven some day.
