What did you think?

As a child, we always got asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. Very early on I wanted to be a newscaster. As I got older I changed my mind, wanting to be a teacher; probably of little children.
Unfortunately, life had different plans for me. I shouldn't complain though - it could have been worse!

I wanted to be a preschool or kindergarten teacher, after my aunt. But she stopped being a hero and that dream stopped with it.

I wanted to be in the Peace Corps, Foreign Correspondent or Airline Stewardess. I still would like to teach English overseas, but since I always have pets I am devoted to, not sure if that will ever happen. Some institutions let you take your pets, but not sure if that would be worth it. It seems like a lot of stress.

You're going to think this silly, but I always wanted to be married to a man as smart and as loveable as my Dad-he was my most favorite human being on this planet until I met my husband. And I always wanted to be the mother of a son.
My life felt so very complete and 'perfect' by my standards when he was born. I could not imagine it getting any better-although every day it feels as though it does.

I wanted to be an artist - but the family discouraged me saying I could never make a living with art, that only crazy people were artists, etc. So I dropped that idea and wanted to become many other things. In high school my friend introduced me to possible careers in art - and that got me started again. My dad was not happy I became an art major in college. I learned to work in all kinds of media - but ultimately as a career I became a graphic artist/designer - I'm glad I was able to come back to what I originally wanted to do.

I wanted to be a nurse but couldn't stand needles. Then I wanted to be a singer but had a terrible voice.
