An Eye For An Eye.

Here's a confession. In all of Christian Philosophy which I adhere to 'heart and soul,' forgiving is most difficult to obey.
Yes, why turn the other cheek? Ouch, too much. An eye for an eye is the resolve. A tooth for a tooth. Even if I lose all my teeth. Forgiving? Huh! Justice first. Gosh, ain't forgiving without justice exceeding what is being asked of us?
Yet, that is the core of the doctrine. 'Love your enemies,' our Lord said. Grrrr.
Am still a human with frailties, too. A work in progress when it comes to forgiving. Still finding it in my heart to forgive, in the hope that I'd be forgiven too when it's my turn to receive judgment.

You are so right. Forgiving doesn't come easy. You need to work a lot on conscious and spiritual living and then only it comes naturally.

@eileenleyva I am glad that I have at least started with it. Though it's easier said than done.

@arunima25 Yes. That is a consolation we can give ourselves. It is my hope that we get to be completely successful.

@eileenleyva Yes that’s typical human frailty comes and if we couldn’t control it, it controls us and makes us weaken further to our detriment.

Mere mention of the name of the person who offended me brings to mind the hurt and the pain that person impacted on me. I think St. Ignatius Loyola felt the same when he prayed to the Lord to take all his will, his mind, his memory.
