The story began when the creator of Happy Days, Garry Marshall, asked his son why he found Happy Days to be boring. His son’s answer was that the show is not related to space. I guess this was the time when Star Wars was immensely popular. Upon hearing his son’s answer, Marshall decided to create an episode with an alien in it. So while looking for a suitable actor to play the alien, Robin Williams came to audition. When asked to sit down, Williams sat on his head. He was so hilarious that Marshall immediately cast him as Mork, the alien that appeared in Happy Days and the episode received such high ratings that it produced a spin-off, The Mork and Mindy Show. I can’t imagine how Robin Williams sat on his head. That must be so funny. When asked about the casting of Williams, Marshall always answered jokingly that he had only one alien came in to audition. Sadly, Williams passed away. I really missed his antics. I love watching Mork and Mindy when I was younger. It was one of my favourite sitcoms. I read about this and just had to share it here.
