I was shocked upon seeing the space of a popular worldwide fastfood brand at one mall here had their business closed. Yes, closed and not just for renovations. The business had been there for more than a decade of operation. The one that is left is the drive thru elsewhere. I can't imagine why the franchise owner decided to give up the business where in fact, based on number of daily customers it would not be losing. I never heard yet if they will just transfer location but if the owner did that for whatever reasons, that would be an advantage if their local counterpart.

Maybe there is a valid reason for closing in.

mcdonald's? maybe they sold the business and need the money. maybe they're migrating. maybe they're retiring. maybe no one wants to inherit the business. maybe for medical purposes. so many possibilities.

That is sad. Yes, online platforms are now making that far.

We had the same store close in our mall. It may be due to mall owners hiking the price so highly for the rent that it's not worth staying open in that location. Because of increasing rent half our mall is now void of stores.

There could be another pressing reason than economic reason.

Yes, perhaps deeper reasons more than anything else.
