They're Coming to See Us!

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are coming to town to go to the 55th high school reunion. They have asked if they can come and visit us. We haven't seen my husband's sister since his mother died in 2000. I won't bore you with the details; but my husband's brother and sister acted like vultures on road kill when they came to stay at their parent's house. What wasn't bolted down they managed to take in spite of my husband being the executor of the will....they never asked, they just took and even had us send some things to them after they left -- they ran out of room! There were a lot of things said and done that I won't go into. Needless to say, there was bad blood between us. So, we will welcome them into our home and clench our teeth and be gracious hosts. I know we should forgive and forget; but it will be very difficult. Have you ever been in a situation such as this? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Oh my, I have been there many times unfortunately. Maybe, just maybe it will go better than you think.

That might be a real challenging situation there. Hope things go well and smooth. It's not always easy to forgive and forget.

Something similar happened when my in-laws passed away, but we didn’t let it ruin the relationship with my hubby’s brother or wife. We forgave, but never forgot.
