Unfortunately, I'll have to send it back...

Well, I put the battery in my new camera and charged it over twelve hours. I thought it was weird that the little light the instructions said was supposed to be on while it was charging was not on. Sure enough, when I tried to use the camera, it did not work. There's a lemon in every bunch, I guess. I have to take it to a UPS place to return it, but soon after I figured that out, I got sick. The paper said I had until March 23rd to return it; hopefully this thing will be gone before then ! Oh, well. I've been without a camera this long, I guess I can wait a little longer...

There's a few things I'd check before sending it back: 1) Is the socket you plugged the charger into working? and, if it's a switched socket, switched on? 2) Does the light on the charger work at all? (If not, it's likely a faulty charger) 3) Did you insert the battery into the charger correctly? I know you're not stupid and nor am I, but I promise that I've done idiotic things like putting the battery in the charger the wrong way round in haste!

Oh, I've done plenty of idiotic things--I know the socket works, and the charger. The battery thing...I may have done, I'll have to check. ;)

I'm sorry for experiencing a bad purchased. Hope you can figure some alternative to use it's battery? Like buying a battery pack from Best Buy? I mean, they have those Fujifilm Finepix units on their stores though.
