Just before the weekend we got my 5 years blood labs back about his food allergies so we can compare them with the allergist. They noted on his labs that his iron was low and for the next 3 months he needs to take 3.5mL’s twice a day. The doctor put in a script that we are waiting to be filled. They are currently out of stock and it’s on back order. So hopefully soon they will get that in in the mean time we are trying to encourage him to iron enriched foods. So more meals with meat in them. Which shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Beans, lentils and spinach are also rich in iron. Many people have low iron nowadays, I think with the natural sources you will be able to raise his levels until the medicine comes.

He has a lot of food allergies so some times certain foods are not an option. He does like beans. Spinach is a no go nobody in this house touched it. His vitamins D use to be low but that’s a good a level know since him and his siblings play outside a lot.

@ShyBear88 Vitamine D is a problem for almost everyone. We don't go out in the sunlight enough nowadays. I also have insufficiency. It's good that they are getting enough sunlight.

@besweet studies have shown those with darker skin tone have a harder time absorbing vitamin D from the sun also less people don’t eat veggies that contain it. Milk does but a lot of people are lactose because milk is not natural designed for the human body. Some people just have autoimmune disorders where they can’t. It’s no surprise for our little guy that he couldn’t get enough. He has dark skin tone like me. Also winter there really isn’t any sun around.
