Earthquake in my city

Canada
March 2, 2020 8:11pm CST
Last night (March 1st) at 8:38 PM, a 2.6 earthquake struck my city. It happened in a neighborhood close to where I live, although I did not feel it. (Whew!) It is not common for earthquakes to occur in Atlantic Canada, so this was a very rare event. Earthquakes are more commonly reserved for the West Coast. Hopefully, there won't be anymore any time soon.

Today we have three separate earthquakes reported by PHIVOCS: 1.8 magnitude in Occidental Mindoro, 3.1 magnitude in Banisilan Cotabato, and 2.4 magnitude in Surigao del Norte.

You live in earthquake central. They are more common in the Philippines than here. Stay safe.

So do I. It wasn't felt everywhere but it's too close to home.

The last recorded earthquake in my parts was in 1929. That one caused a small tsunami in Cape Breton.
