A Mother's Protection.

I reprimanded my self yesterday, when I had the chance to converse with my daughter who is currently in London. I was reminding her of the quick proliferation of the COVID-19, and Paris has taken the necessary measure to stop the spread of the highly contagious novel coronavirus. Any mother, I suppose, would worry. I did. But my daughter said that news has it also that in Southeast Asia, cases could be undetected, and the situation might actually be worse. Nope, I replied. It has been over a month now and status remains as it was when the ncov first flashed in the news. Thus far, it seems, and I pray, that the Philippines will be spared. After all, I said, Mama Mary is the Patroness of the Land, and we pray our Rosary to Her every single day. Nope, the disease could not penetrate Mama Mary's Mantle. As with you, I told my daughter. Continue praying the Rosary from the heart, and our Mama Mary will protect you.

I believe that no one knows what might happen and when. The virus is out of control that is has affected 74 countries already. But you are right. We have to be careful by taking precautions like washing the hands when we come home or before we eat. And pray too.

When I heard Sunday Mass, I was the only one wearing a face mask. I felt like 'shame on me, me of little faith.' There's nothing to be afraid of when one believes Our Lady can send even diseases away. Pray fervently from the heart.

@eileenleyva with the face mask, I agree that you can wear it if you want, nothing's wrong with that. Besides, if you are sick of cold or flu it is only right that you wear a face mask so you will not spread the virus.

My sister too in the US is not that worried with the situation we have here in our country. She said we are getting exaggerated with our reaction to it. I said that being quite near China we are highly at risk more than others. I can see the virus is slowly creeping in the US too. I just told her to take the precautionary measures not to have any sypmtoms when she arrives here this coming April.

@eileenleyva I just hope she stays healthy when she arrives here. She has an allergic rhinitis which may look like she has colds. It is hard to explain at the airport that she has this condition and might be suspected to having the symptoms. I hope she can have an allergy free travel so she would not looked like she is sick.

@rsa101 Isn't it travel requires passengers to inform them if one has a physical condition?

A very good warning which your sibling must take seriously. That means she must not get infected at all. Chinese hygiene is questionable. Gosh, we Filipinos take a bath two times a day. Sigh.

The crazy part is that we have ran out of mask and people aren't wearing any specially at the church. Good thing mom didn't have it when she got ill last week. Yeah were all gonna need to pray because of this virus scattering itself all over.

Have faith, knight, our prayers will not go unheard. Our Mama Mary will protect us. You'll see. She loves us so dearly because we Filipinos are the new Irish, spreading Catholicism to all corners of the globe.

It doesn't hurt to be cautious. I hope the Philippines are spared. The US is facing a problem though.

Yes, aside from my daughter being in London, my entire family is in Los Angeles, relatives and friends scattered both in the West and East Coasts. Ergo, kneeling down before the Blessed Sacrament is mandatory now. Preparing my self for the date with our Lord in His Home later. Keep safe from the novel coronavirus. My prayers for you, too, and your family.

Yes, the news are still distressing. Albeit I am putting on a positive frame of mind that this disease could be kept at bay, so long as we obey strictly the advice of the medical practitioners. And of course, pray without ceasing.

Thanks very much for the concern. Yes, my daughter is well aware of the situation. She sees to it that she has the nourishment to combat the novel coronavirus. She said the weather was warmer yesterday. That's hope that the COVID-19 might not be as dreaded any longer. Let's pray still.
